Nick Brandt is an English photographer who photographs exclusively in the African continent, one of his goals being to record a last testament to the wild animals and places there before they are destroyed by the hands of man. His amazing black and white images of elephants, lions, and cheetahs can be found in galleries and private collections all over the world.

The photographer lets the photos speak for themselves there are no interesting quips or notes about location or facts about the subject surrounding the photos. To have such would detract from the stunning beauty and sadness the photos evoke.

The photos themselves are superb and the artist overwhelmingly accomplishes his goal of making the view feel the tragedy that is the destruction of the natural world and its inhabitants.

Nick Brandt depicts the animals of Africa with an intimacy and artistry unmatched by other photographers who choose wildlife as their subject.

Looking at Nick Brandts work one cant help but be gripped by a sense of awe and respect at the power, beauty and fragility of the world that he sees though his lens. It also serves as a reminder of the burden of responsibility that rests on our collective shoulders to protect and nurture this habitat for future generations.
